IELTS Listening

The IELTS Listening test will take about 30 minutes, and you will have an extra 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. There is only one same Listening test for both Academic and GT candidates.

There are four parts of IELTS Listening:

First part of your Listening test is a conversation between two people (Social Context). Listen to the audio and answer questions 1-10.

Second part of your Listening test is a speech or talk with just one person (Social Context). Listen to the audio and answer questions 11-20.

Listening – part 3

Part 3 is a conversation between up to four people (Educational or training contex). Listen to the audio and answer questions 21-30.

Listening – part 4

Listening part 4 is a talk by one person on an academic subject. Listen to the audio and answer questions 31-40.

Listen to the instructions for each part of this section carefully. Answer all the questions. While you are listening, write your answers on the question paper. Use a pencil. When you have completed all four parts of the Listening test you will have ten minutes to copy your answers on to a separate answer sheet.
